Anyway, on to the findings. For my preferred spec, 33/28/5, the ratio is 1.796 SP:CR. Using this spec, if you were to increase your crit by 1% (26.375 CR), you would increase your HPET by 18.26. If you were to increase your SP by the same amount, you would increase your HPET by 32.36. So, point for point, SP is 1.796x "better" than crit, in the sense that it will translate to 1.796x higher HPS than crit.
Not surprisingly, when you omit 5% SP from Cab and subspec Warden, the SP:CR ratio decreases slightly, to 1.776 SP:CR. SP is slightly (1.1%) worse for Warden subspec P/S builds than it is for Cabalist subspec P/S builds.
For full puri builds, the difference is enormous. I've been reluctant to invest ALL of my itemization toward SP because of crit's practicality, but my reluctance has been misplaced. For the more common 51/15/0 build, SP is 5.051x more valuable than CR. For my favorite 51/10/5 build, SP is 6.842x more valuable than CR. You absolutely don't want to itemize for crit as a full Puri. That much is certain.
In my spreadsheet, the SP/CR weights were calculated assuming a linear relationship between SP/CR and heal value. Predicted base heal was calculated using my SP coefficient spreadsheet. CR:Crit % is a known coefficient of 0.0003791356.

TL;DR: As a purifier-sentinel, you want to aim for gear with both SP and Crit. If you divide your SP by your Crit Rating, optimally, you're looking for a number around 1.8. As a 51 purifier however, you want to gear for SP entirely.

I use HPET (healing per execute time) in my calculations because it's easier to calculate and the results will be proportionate to HPS since we're only considering one spell anyway. These calculations assume a 100% RF rotation, which is really not too far off. As far as a percentage of actual casts (not of healing done), in last night's RoS, 82% of our first S/P' casts were RF throughout the night (Batman), and 79% of our second S/P's casts were RF on Gaurath (Gundorf).Anyway, on to the findings.
